On a mountain, 8 km north-east of the city of Caltanissetta is located the archaeological site of Sabucina. Strategic place for excellence, was the scene of a significant cultural crossroads between the ancient Greek colonists and the indigenous people, which gave rise to a mixture of religious and artistic traditions, whose sanctuaries of chthonic deities are the main symbol.

From Piazza Armerina. Exit Piazza Armerina taking the SP15 towards Villa Romana del Casale. Continue along the SP15 for about 17 km towards Barrafranca. Turn left and go on the SP12, stay on the SP12 always in the direction of Barrafranca, for about 2 km then turn slightly right on to SS191 in the direction Pietraperzia. After about 10 km you will reach the town of Pietraperzia and, after crossing Viale Guglielmo Marconi and Viale della Pace, turn right onto the E931. Go ahead and take exit Palermo / Catania, continue on the SS626. After about 6 km, turn right at the junction to Capodarso / Enna, keep left at the next junction, and follow the signs for Caltanissetta. Then, head on SS122. At about 5 km, turn right. Along the remaining path, will meet other three junctions: in sequence, turn slightly to the left and to right twice.
